The “Chasse de Maximilien” series is kept in the Louvre museum in Paris. It is comprised of twelve pieces, corresponding to the twelve months of the year. They were woven between 1531 and 1533 in Brussels, the biggest centre for tapestry production at the time, in the atelier of Jan Ghieteels, based on work by Flemish painter, Bernard van Orley. This particular tapestry depicts hunting with dogs in August.
